Amy and Ryan.

Amy and Ryan became very dear to me. They were such a sweet couple with a very strong sense of style. I met with their family too and they were equally warm, wonderful and as much fun as the couple themselves. I had many giggles with Ryan's mum on the wedding morning before heading off to the amazing Brighton College in Kemptown.

The theme for their wedding that emerged amongst all their favourite things was that they were really into films and music. We thrashed out some ideas for table centrepieces and they came up with the genius solution of decorating the tables with popcorn boxes which we filled with flowers, film ticket stubs and film themed paraphenalia which included Star Wars figures, Wall-e figurines and packets of 'white powder' ( Good Fellas ) Each table was themed to a different film. The top table had the most adorable Mendle's pretty pink cake boxes ( from the Grand Budapest Hotel - watch it ) There were stripey bags of popcorn for each guest, each with a little cute ' Amy and Ryan' sticker. The attention to detail was incredible with each lucky guest receiving a personalised fridge magnet. The wedding 'cake' was a towering affair of Krispy Kreme doughnuts! I had no idea that this was even a thing so was very sad not to have seen it in the flesh.

Amy's bouquet was a confection of pale pinks and blush nudes punctuated with hot cerise pink. Her dress was a stunning confection of layers and layers of tulle with a breathtakingly beautiful sparkly bodice. Her maids' bouquet were kept simple but beautiful with shades of white and blush with gentle foliages.

The showstopper ( apart from Amy's stunning dress and Ryan's shoes, ask me about them another time ) was a huge hanging floral installation in shades of reds, pinks, blush with plenty of lush greenery. We constructed a mesh and suspended a total of just over 300 stems. The whole thing was attached to the lighting rig which, thankfully, was lowered to head height then raised later. The Great Hall itself is such a good looking venue that this simple, yet effective decoration provided just the right amount of wow factor.
