Peaches and corals at Court Gardens Farm
St Matthias Day aka Patricia and Benjie's wedding

Patricia and Benjie met on had their first date on St Matthias Day and subsequently got married on St Matthias Day. And guess where? At St Matthias Church on Ditchling Road in Brighton.

Their plans included an intimate wedding to include seasonal garlands, blossom, peaches, scented stocks, corals and gorse. Yes, I did say gorse. Which was fun to forage, not quite so much fun to handle. The reception took place at the wonderful Court Gardens Farm Vineyard in Ditchling run by the fabulous and dynamic duo Howard and Jenny for whom nothing was too much trouble. Howard even showed us how to not get squashed and killed by the 12ft solid oak barn doors should they get blown shut by an errant breeze. Which was kind I thought.

We created a fabulous hanging flowerball of peach David Austin roses, Miss Piggy roses, snapdragons, blossom and gorse which involved some incredibly high ladders, two sweat moustaches from myself and my colleague and the tiniest amount of cursing only. We also suspended sheaves of foliage along the back wall to provide a backdrop to the top table.
